Today I started doing the basic blocking layout of my final animation, I still have a lot to do and a few small things that I need to fix, but right now I just want to make sure that I set the cameras according to my story board.

I also started doing some animation tests for the Animation that I planned in my storyboard earlier this term. this is a quick idea of what you might see in my final animation. Character Model - 21/08/2015

The only reason I'm blogging is because I have nothing better to do atm :) since I'm finally done with presentation wohooooooo!!

 I still feel like I've been pretty lazy with my character design, should have probably done wings or some type of Mecha modelling to it and should have probably spent more time focusing on my modelling (instead of watching anime and playing games).

Prop Model - 07/08/2015

OK, so I applied a Toon shader to my Katana to give it a more cartoonish style, I really like the way it looks with it. \m/ btw I didn't really work on my 3 point lighting because I'm lazy, so I'm sorry if the lighting is not up to your standards yet :P

Today I worked on my prop (Katana), added some extra textures and a few more details to it. this is the result so far.

Character Modeling - 5/08/2015

Today I've been working on the UVs of my character to see how the textures would react in it.
I unfolded my characters leg but when I applied my texture to it it looked a bit off place.





I managed to fix it by adjusting the UVs in the UV Texture editor. didn't take too long and now my character's leg is looking much better :).







Now the leg looks much better when the textured is applied to it. By the way, this is the back of leg.

today I decided to model the face(rough practice model tho) of my samurai and this is how it looks so far after 6 hours of modeling, talking and being lazy.






I also worked on my model last week?? took me about 4 hours to finish it, even tho it's still quite rough. Also did a quick basic Katana model.

Today I didn't spend much time working on my storyboard as I would have liked to :P, But I did managed to do some of my character's modelling in maya(can't show you yet hehe) and it is looking quite good so far :)

Well, hopefully I'll work on my storyboard when I get home unless I end up watching Anime(again)

I did a summary description of my sequence and the genre I will be changing it to as well as my character's profile.

I finally finished my character's turnarounds. I will probably have to fix a few things, but at least the main work is done.






I will probably end up using a blue cotton texture for his shirt and some other fabric texture for his pants.

Concept Development - 23/07/2015


Today I had a really productive day(for once), I finished a few new color tests for the pants and my character's full body. I really like all the different versions of it, so it's going to be quite hard to decide which one might be my final one, because who knows, I might come up with new crazy ideas ;) .
 I had some great feedback from my tutor, one of them being about the hair of my character which had quite a lot of triangle shapes around the head(refer to last blog post), so my tutor told me to change it into a more basic shape and that's what I did or at least tried to do.


Below you can see a few different colors tried on my character, and like I said before, I like them all :)

Concept Development - 22/07/2015


I just finished working on some color tests for my character's face. I will decide on the final one by the end of the day.........(hopefully).





So instead on deciding on the final color of my character's face, I managed to come up with a bunch of different colors for the shirt of my Samurai. I like all of them, but my favorites are the white,black and green one.

Finally decided what Japanese Mask style I'll be using for my character.

I woke up this morning feeling really tired, even tho I had a good 6 hours of sleeping time :), it felt more like a 3 hours sleep :(. Anyways, back to the main point, While I was falling sleep in the bus I thought about changing the mask that my character will be using, from a Noh Mask to a Oni Mask, why? well because it's more terrifying and evil than the Noh Mask; I'll try to come up with a few new concepts for it today.

Concept Development 21/07/2015


Another day in Mordor, trying to stay alive and come up with new ideas and concepts for my character . I managed to come up with a lot of new drawings and a face for my Samurai today(finally decided what clothes he's going to wear)and also came up with a new design for my Katana sword.
Sadly, the scanners weren't operating today(I think Sauron killed them all), so I wasn't able to scan any of my drawings :( ........................................but, once I get home I will scan my drawings and update my blog with the drawings that I've done today :) so you people can see my progress.
I have to go back to my base now and figure out a way to conquer the world and save everyone from joining the Dark Side of the Force.......

4 HOURS LATER..................... As promised, I have updated my blog with some drawings that I've done during the past 3 days or so,


By the end of the day today(around 3:30pm) I began to work on a new design for my character's Katana, I really like the design on the right side.



I did these 2 character poses today, really rough drawings done really fast :P


Today (21/07/2015), I worked on a few face designs(even tho I already had a pretty clear idea of how I wanted my character's face to look like), I really like the long hair one, with the pointy goatee.




The following day I worked on the outfit of the character, I was trying to come up with some basic samurai/farmer clothing style. 18/07/2015
